review:
fun, and eerily prescient in some ways, for a 1997 publication. A preoccupation with journalistic integrity, truth, and authenticity is a constant thread.

As a story though, not particularly mature. Spider Jerusalem is a snotty know-it-all anger-factory who never changes and never really has any obstacles he can't easily kick in the teeth and yell his way out of. In a way it's satisfying to follow this avenging demon around his corrupt and rotting City as he smites evildoers and lectures the populace about "the truth". But ultimately it's pretty juvenile to have a main character like this who never learns or grows.

The art is really great, a riot of overwhelming detail.
