this self-portrait i like quite a lot, it was taken at sunrise about 45 minutes south of Tucson during a Pygmy Owl survey in an area supposedly dangerous (according to Border Patrol) from drug and human smuggling. Hence I was there as a "bodyguard" for my friend who was doing the survey.

and of course it displays me sporting my latest attempt at some sort of facial-hair, which i have recently learned some people like. some women, that is.
