This is a great "mess with your head" sort of novel, dealing with a guy who gets a strange head injury and has to re-learn how to do everything. Everything becomes unnatural and concious, and he yearns for situations that are "real" and authentic. He sets about trying to get these, with odd and eventually disastrous results. This would probably make a great film, maybe by the Coen brothers or Gus Van Sant.
