Ultimately i was disappointed with this book. It's full of horribly graphic and gratuitous violence, some rather poetic and beautiful imagery, but beyond that, it's like... so what? full of sound and fury but signifying nothing. maybe that's McCarthy's point? It was a page turner in a way, but at the same time i was constantly thinking, "this better amount to something later," and sure enough, it didn't. the ending is infuriating and makes me feel like i wasted my time, slogging through all the meaningless gore for zero payoff.
